We are a small, women-led, antiracist organization energized by Black joy and wisdom.

Together, we are cooperatively reimagining PJI to reflect our values—building on a nearly 50-year legacy of unwavering focus on pretrial justice, while centering equity at the heart of our work and culture.

That means we distribute leadership; hire based on skills, vision, and lived experience; operate transparently; and practice radical honesty. It’s the right thing to do, what’s best for the people who work here, and what we envision for the systems we work with.

Our team is a beautiful blend of creatives, techies, policy wonks, number crunchers, advocates and social innovators, all working collaboratively across portfolios and time zones to help disrupt the pathways to mass incarceration.

We love what we do and have fun doing it. But we never lose sight of the communities we come from—and the people we’re fighting for. Join us!
